Ferrous metals
Are metals which have iron. They may have small amounts of additional metals or other elements added, to give the required properties. All ferrous metals are magnetic and provide little resistance to corrosion. Ferrous metals may have small amounts of other elements such as carbon or nickel, in detailed proportions, which are added to achieve the desired properties. Steel, an iron alloy containing carbon, is by far the most-recycled material worldwide.
