Job Description:

Our client is a leading supplier of engineering support to numerous different industries. The Piping Engineer’s main purpose is design, maintenance engineering and rehabilitation engineering of the following typical systems: Boiler tanks and vessels. They report directly in to the Piping Engineering Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate fabrication, construction, and testing specifications
  • Assisting in the continuous development of relevant Standard Practices
  • Managing and control Engineering Data in configuration system
  • Ensuring that all design and technical documentation is registered, updated, distributed and stored in a controlled and retrievable manner in accordance with Company Standard procedures
  • Managing and control Engineering Data in configuration system
  • Responsible for design implementation on site to ensure full legal compliance with PER and relevant design and construction codes & standards, throughout design, construction and close out stages
  • Failure and root cause analysis of failed or damaged components
  • Provision of the required support to Management, Projects and Sales Departments
  • The identification of technical risk and possible mitigation and immediate reporting of same to the Engineering Project Team and Management
  • Evaluation of design issues arising during procurement, manufacture, construction, commissioning or operation


 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Minimum National Diploma (S4) in Mechanical Engineering, B-Eng degree / B-Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Working towards Professional Society membership beneficial
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a boiler design environment
